MALE VOICE 4: —isn't the only procedure that they're coming in to ask for. I notice the, what I would call as a layman, drooping eyelids, for example, seems to be more applicable to elderly citizens.
DR. EMILIO JUSTO: Absolutely. Blepharoplasty, which is the medical jargon for the common type of eyelid surgery, is probably our quote-on-quote bread and butter, and we say patients on a daily basis requesting this. One of the things that has stood us out over the years, and I've been in practice here in Sun City since 1989, is the fact that I do all of my blepharoplasties using lasers, so it's all laser assisted blepharoplasty, which makes the procedure very smooth, very rapid, and near bloodless.
MALE VOICE 4: And there's an advantage too to your sight being improved. It isn't just a matter of cosmetics.
DR. EMILIO JUSTO: A very good point. Particularly in the elderly patients who have very, very heavy, droopy lids, their peripheral vision can be restricted. And in those cases, if they do have enough heaviness and droopiness to the lids, it is something that is considered medical, and can be authorized by their insurance.
