Eye Conditions
Macular Degeneration
Macular degeneration is an age-related condition that causes the central portion of the retina to break down. Untreated macular degeneration can impair your vision and quality of life. Dr. Justo uses the CIRRUS™ OCT system to diagnose your condition and develop an appropriate treatment plan.
Diabetes and the Eye
If you suffer from type 1 or type 2 diabetes mellitus, you are at an increased risk for diabetic retinopathy. This occurs when the eye's blood vessels cannot carry sufficient oxygen, inhibiting their ability to nourish the retina. If you suffer from diabetes, you should schedule routine eye exams.
Vitreous Floaters
Vitreous floaters are not typically cause for concern, unless they appear or increase suddenly. In this case, they could indicate a retinal tear. If you notice a sudden onset of floaters, you should contact our office immediately. Dr. Justo will see you within 24 hours.
