When I was only in my early 30s, I began to feel I looked tired and not like myself at all. I had no idea that someone my age could experience droopy eyelids and need upper eyelid surgery. But it is more common of a vision issue than I realized. Fortunately, I found Dr. Emilio Justo and the Arizona Eye Institute, and learned about their experience in perfecting eyelid surgery as well as getting the surgery authorized by insurance! I was so focused on looking like myself again and regaining my original eyelid contour that I did not realize until afterward what a dramatic impact it would have on my vision as well! I was so happy with my surgery, that I recommended Dr. Justo to my mom (the one I inherited the eyelids from!) and my mother is just as thrilled at her results.

The office was very well run, and the staff made me feel welcome. I was given all the information I needed to make an informed dicision about my care.

I met Dr Shifrin at his former place of employment. So delighted to follow him to Az Eye Institute. I called him with an eye emergency 3 years ago and was able to see me that day. As always Dr. Justo’s staff is very friendly, helpful and professional. The lady (I forgot her name, but she said she had just started in that office 4 days earlier) did the eye exam and took pictures of my eyes. She was very helpful and explained what she was doing and answered all my questions. Dr. Shifting also was very helpful and informative. He showed me pictures of my eyes with explanations and referred me to Dr. Conway who is also in that office. I felt I was in competent hands and was very comfortable with them.

Staff and Dr. made me feel confident about my cataract surgery and it's outcome. I am at week one after the surgery and every thing going well. I am still having some haziness, but that should pass.

Dr Justo is the very best! I've been going to him for almost thirty years and look forward to continued care.

She is professional and friendly and I always enjoy my appointments with her. By the way, I highly approve of the way the waiting rooms and lobby of the SCW office look with the new decor. It seems lighter and fresher and more welcoming. The Bell Road office could use the same touch!

I was very impressed with the vast array of interesting test equipment that was used during my exam. No other ophthalmologist that I have visited has anything like this vast advanced equipment. I was treated like a special patient even though I only expected to get a cursory exam to answer a question I had about the need for getting cataract surgery. Dr. Justo was a pleasure to meet and more than satisfied my questioning of need for cataract surgery. He told me everything I wanted to know about the procedure and assured me that I really didn't need cataract surgery at this time or in the near future. He said it might be several years before I would need it whereas my regular ophthalmologist was pushing me toward getting it within this current year. Needless to say I have changed my ophthalmologist to Dr. Justo for all future eye needs. I came away smiling, impressed, and relived.

Dr Justo is the best of the best! I have been a patient of his for almost 18 years and due to his caring and expertise I have 20/20 vision since my cataract surgery. He has a wonderful staff and some have been with him since he started his practice. I trust my eyesight to this talented doctor!

This was my first visit to the Institute. I was very pleased with Dr. Shifrin and his staff and appreciate the ability to have an online portal to help with information between patient and office. He provided information for how to deal with my problem and provided a referral to a specialist for addition attention in the future. Dr.Justo removed my cataracts almost a year ago.I came away from the surgery with 20/20.Reading glasses only for very small print. I was treated well and very impressed with the staff. Recently I suffered infection in both eyes. I was treated and somehow the meds did not work on me. I panicked because I could not focus. All kinds of changes were happening. I became very sick. I was able to see Dr.Justo within a couple of days. When he walked in after many exams I felt relieved.He spent time putting my mind to rest that my sight was fine and how to handle any future infections that may occur. He was wonderful. Remember the days when you got personalized service by a professional who actually listened and took the time to make you feel as though you were the most important person to them? I found that in my appt w Roxanne yesterday. I called ARIZONA EYE INSTITUTE because I've been looking for a new provider for my BOTOX injections. I have been disappointed in the last couple of years, suspicious that my BOTOX was being diluted too much by my previous provider. Roxanne agreed to meet w me and explain her mixing procedure and to let me watch her mix the solution if I wanted to, and to discuss different options. She took some extra time to just get to know me before we even discussed my treatment. She made me feel very comfortable and the staff at the front desk was very helpful and sweet. The office is clean, and comfortable and I was seen by Roxanne promptly at my appt time. So refreshing, the whole experience. 👍🏼

When I arrived at the eye center, I was very promptly treated by an eye specialist assistant and then by the doctor. It was a very thorough exam using the most high tech state-of-the-art equipment that diagnosed my eye condition. I thought the entire staff did an excellent job.

I had to bring forward my appointment from a date in March to this week. The office staff were very accommodating and put me in the next day. Dr Shifrin dealt with my eye condition extremely thoroughly,complete with some treatment to the eye which was successful. Then a full explanation of that condition and what I can do at home to take care of the eye. Thank you

Hi, my name is Cheryl Van Gorder. I had a complimentary appointment with Roxanne Dorty, R.N. about possible hair removal. When she questioned me about how dark or light the hairs were (that I wanted removed), she kindly explained that laser removes dark pigmented hairs, while light hairs, it does not remove. I did not know this. I mentioned to her, that what I really needed was a doctor who could help me with both balancing my hormones, as well as one who could address my issues of hypothyroidism, allergies, etc. She gave me a recommendation for De Rosa Medical - Women's Wellness and the address and phone. Well, I just went for my 1st appt. today, 2/13/17, and I met with Mary Montes. I am very happy with this referral that Roxanne gave me. The staff and doctor were very pleasant and made me feel comfortable about the procedure. The scheduled date for the procedure was timely and acceptable.

Late on a Friday afternoon, walked in off the street with a worry I might have a detached retina. I was seen almost immediately by Dr Justo's assistant who ran through some tests, one of which using the latest equipment replacing the older "puff' test. Then Dr Justo performed a thorough examination and reassured me that I didn't have a detached retina and explained it was yet another feature of old age! Excellent treatment from all the staff.

Reception and office staff were prompt, well organized and efficient. Clinical staff were thorough and detailed in asking questions. Dr. Shifrin quickly analyzed my problems and provided precise and accurate diagnosis. This is a well functioning team and a very knowledgeable doctor.

The office staff was great, as always. The person who checked and dilated my eyes was outstanding. I can't remember his name, but I think he is the only man that does this work. This was the first time I had seen Dr. Shifrin and I was very happy with his chair side manner and concern about my vision. He was very easy to talk to and made me feel very at ease. It was refreshing to go to a doctor's office where they were actually on time. I was taken as soon as I arrived, and everyone was very knowledgeable. I have just started with cataracts and possible glaucoma, and Dr. Shifrin is right on top of these things making sure that I don't progress until it's too late. Very pleased with everyone!

I felt that exam was thorough and state of the art equipment was used in imaging eye for a complete diagnosis. Dr. Cox was friendly and easy going. The staff was helpful and polite. They offered to file my bill with my insurance and code it for a diabetic check without any hassle. I don't know how much I will be out of pocket because I haven't met my deductable yet for this year, but since I have pictures of both eye interiors, I suspect it will be more than I am used to paying for regular eye exams. Seeing these amazing photos with healthy tissue has given me peace of mind.

The staff at the AZ Eye Institute were welcoming and friendly. Dr. Cox is thorough and shares with you what she is doing and why. When I had to go back to get my new glasses (purchased elsewhere) checked for accuracy in the prescription, the staff were most accommodating. I will get my glasses done at the AZ Eye Institute instead of one of the "two pairs of glasses for the price of one", who have remade my glasses twice now and still do not have the prescription correct. The Doctor and staff are very good. My wife and I go there because they are very thorough. There is always a longer wait than seems necessary however.
