Welcome Dr. Yates!
Arizona Eye Institute & Cosmetic Laser Center Welcomes Dr. Mark Yates
The Arizona Eye Institute & Cosmetic Laser Center is proud to introduce Mark Yates, O.D., as our new Assistant Director of Optometry to support our growing 30-year vision and beauty practice.
As a Medical Optometrist, Dr. Yates will oversee comprehensive medical vision exams, but also offer routine eye exams and prescriptions. He brings to the practice three decades of experience diagnosing, treating and managing routine to complex health conditions including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, dry eye syndrome, diabetic eye care and more.
Dr. Yates will work side by side with Founder & Medical Director Emilio M. Justo, M.D., who operates out of his on-site Medicare-certified surgery center, with an emphasis on customized cataract surgery and laser eyelid surgery, among other procedures.
"Dr. Yates brings three decades of passion for treating and educating patients and ensuring their vision remains strong for their best quality of life," Dr. Justo said. "As a Medical Optometrist, he has experience treating almost any vision issue, and will work side by side with me on more complex issues and surgical needs. I am thrilled at the strong team we have built to support the community"
Originally from a small town in Missouri, Dr. Yates said his parents put a great emphasis on education and instilled strong ethics in him for caring for each individual patient.
"My greatest professional enjoyment is to clearly understand each patient's specific needs, thereby allowing me to provide specific solutions to enhance my patient's lives," Dr. Yates said. "Many times the extra effort on my part results in the most rewarding experiences, both for my patient and myself."
Dr. Yates earned both his Doctorate of Optometry as well as his Bachelor's Degree in General Studies and Pre-Optometry from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. His internships range from State University of New York School of Optometry, Kansas City Veteran's Administration Hospital Eye Clinic, and University of Missouri - St. Louis School of Optometry Eye Clinic.
"Dr. Yates brings not only an incredible amount of highly skilled experience to the Arizona Eye Institute, but he also brings his kind and caring vision to make a positive difference for our community, and his ability to connect with every patient he sees," Dr. Justo said. "We are scheduling exams with him now, and I encourage you to take advantage of his unique skills and experience."
Honesty and listening are two important priorities, Dr. Yates explained, when he sees a patient. "Patients should be included in their own treatment plan to build a symbiotic long-term healthy optometrist-patient relationship that benefits everyone."
