Resolve Better Vision and Health in 2015
This time of year, many of us begin to write a list of New Year's Resolutions.
They are goals we make to better ourselves and our lives. Goals that are based off dreams we have.
It's not uncommon for vision and health to fall on those lists. With insurance often covering important procedures such as cataract surgery or upper eyelid surgery, there is no reason not to list those needs as you think about what your life could become in 2015!
There are two surgeries that I always recommend you keep in mind as you make those lists.
Cataract surgery is an important procedure to help maintain independence - tasks we take for granted such as driving, and reading.
And, the surgery is safer than ever before, thanks to our investment at Arizona Eye Institute & Cosmetic Laser Center, in the LenSx femtosecond laser for refractive cataract surgery. It is a no blade, no stitch and no patch procedure that also enables me to insert a vision correcting lens. We can discuss your best options.
Blepharoplasty, or eyelid surgery, when done on the upper eyelids is often covered by insurance, when we find that it is medically necessary. That is because it is impacting your vision and your comfort - your life.
The simple, outpatient surgery is performed under local anesthesia as I use the CO2 laser to eliminate excess skin and fat, and restore your original eyelid contours. Below is one happy patient.
Because your insurance is there to make your life better, there is no reason to not investigate whether one or both of these procedures should be on your 2015 list!
Happy New Year!
