Halfway There: Help Keep Our Community Hydrated
The Arizona Eye Institute & Cosmetic Laser Center has collected three dozen cases of water bottles ranging from 24 to 36 bottles each – more than 1,000 total bottles in the first half of the month. Residents and patients stepped up to support our campaign in the first half of the month, eager to help local residents facing heat illness during these hot months.
We still have half a month to go! We invite you to join our effort and drop off water bottles at the practice’s Sun City and Sun City West locations until July 31. Much of the water donated has already been provided to prevent heat-related illness throughout the community.
“We were overwhelmed by the show of support when we kicked off the water drive in early July, and want to share our gratitude,” said Arizona Eye Institute Founder and Medical Director Dr. Emilio M. Justo. “The water you have donated has already begun to be distributed into the community, for those who need it most during these hot months. We are collecting water until the end of the month and I encourage you to stop by.”
Donors who bring at least one to two cases of water can earn discounts of up to 10 percent on cosmetic products and services prepaid in July. Certain restrictions may apply.
The water is provided to the Salvation Army Sun Cities West Valley Corps, who deliver it the Sun City and Sun City West fire districts; the Sheriff's Posses of Sun City, Sun City West and Westbrook; and the police departments in Surprise, El Mirage and Youngtown. Public safety officials are the first to respond to community members facing a heat crisis or illness, whether they are homeless, stranded or have health conditions.
