Happy Father's Day
Father's Day is a time to reflect.
It's a day our little ones draw us cards, with messages written in crayon that tug at our hearts and make us want them to stay young forever. No matter what age they are now.
A day our wives may dote on us a little more than usual.
Most importantly, it's a day I like to sit back and look at the beautiful priorities of our lives.
Children. I can't even imagine my life without my three children. They are the ones who inspire me to do good for others. With every patient I work with to improve their health and their life, I see my kids in the back of my mind.
I know that doing good things for good people in the world sets a good example for my children, and makes our world more beautiful for the ones who will inherit it.
Every patient I come to know becomes a member of my extended family. Some get to meet my kids, on days when they're not in school. That's by design. I want my children to meet the kind people who come through these doors, who share that kindness and maybe even impart some knowledge.
I want my children to know that taking care of yourself, and your health, is just as generous as taking care of others. It's necessary, as the saying goes, to love yourself in order to love others. And to meet those who understand and appreciate that important life role is something I value.
Life is about connections. I feel a connection with each and every one of you.
So as we prepare for Father's Day, I wish every father the best. And I wish every family the best memories you can create during the upcoming weekend.
Happy Father's Day.
